Sponsors and Volunteers needed for 5th Annual Run To Play 5k

The Friends of Southeast Clarke Park and ACC Leisure Services will host the 5th Annual Run to Play 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at Southeast Clarke Park on Lexington Rd., Saturday, July 19th. The 5K run begins at 8 a.m., followed by the Fun Run at 9 a.m.

More than 150 people are expected to run this year. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female finishers, the overall male and female Masters winners, as well as the top three male and female finishers in each age division.

Sponsors and volunteers are needed for this year’s race. Sponsorship is available at the $250 or the $100 level. Sponsors at the $250+ level will be recognized in all advertising, and will receive an engraved commemorative brick on the “yellow brick road” leading to the new Dragon Sculpture at the World of Wonder. This provides great permanent visibility for a business or organization. Sponsors will also be recognized in the Friends newsletter.

Southeast Clarke Park is one of the most visited parks in Athens-Clarke County. Hundreds of children and families visit each week to play at World of Wonder, including the newly opened Dragon Sculpture. The park also offers the Skatepark of Athens, Wiggly Field Dog Park and agility course, nature trails, softball fields, soccer fields, and tennis courts.
